Just a quick post to mentioned that AuctionSiteWriter v2.1.0 is now available.

It offer new features for MyStarterBlog:

• Add: In Write auction site, support MyStarterBlog: This will generate a MSB blog and then you can load it into MSB to add more content and use it's themes.  You will need the MSB eBay Plugin from NicheMate
• Add: In Plugin Code Builder, added the support for  MyStarterBlog(default)
• Add: In Site Statistics, you can analyse the WhoIS Expires date only, open the selected sites in batch in your default browser
• Add: In Write auction site, you have access to a simple HTML editor for the template, Build was change to Generate to be like MyStarterBlog
• Change:  In Write auction site, support up to 200 words
• Change: Many visual aspect has been made

The main goal was to quicly add support for MyStarterBlog. So, instead of creating a phpBay API site, I will create a MSB blog. I will go to each auction sites I created with phpBay or BANS and convert them to MSB. I will be using the auction theme that buyers get with MSB. They still need to buy the MSB eBayPlugin.

Here is the thing: Big G deindexed most BANS, phpBay sites last year in a vast swoop of the hand. Most of my older sites were affected and some from late last year.

Even with that, January was my record earning month with just Yahoo, MSN traffic. Yes, I added a few auction sites since that but the last 3 months was mostly spent on programming MSB.

Using ASW with the template, I will generate a basic auction site. Then, by using MSB, I will had content specific to each products with an About, Contact and Privacy pages. This will give "credit" to my sites in the eyes of Big G.  I believed that Big G did not like my "thin" auction sites I was creating or it just don't like phpBay API/BANS at all.

Are my deindexed site be reindex by Big G? Maybe but once they are converted to MSB, I will ask for reinclusion anyway. It may take time but I have nothing to loose since most make money from other traffic. Plus, the new look will appeal to visitors and look more professional thus they will tend to bid more.

While most run away from creating new auction sites, a few people I know continued and are making more money from them.

It's up to me to do the same. What about you?

For many of us(Internet Marketers), PayPal is the main way we pay and get paid on the Internet. But after hearing what happened to one of my friend, I'm starting to wonder if the downfall of PayPal is coming.  My friend is also an Internet Marketer but with much more experience and sites than me.

In 2007, it was Ades that had the PayPal Limited Account Access email.

PayPal lock out!

Late last year, he contacted them because he was opening a foundation to help people(Pay it forward kind of thing). His lawyer prepared all the paperwork(a lot) needed.

They mentioned it was okay for him to use his current account yet they lock him out of his account a few week later. While he was lock out, the money was still coming in but could not use it. The same account was used for other sites thus locking him out of that money too.

This week, he used another account for a big project with many people. The amount transferred were much bigger and again, they locked him out of his account.

He also have many sites using the affiliate script(PayPal only) I'm using with See Free movies Legally. He build those sites using ebooks taken from PLC. Wednesday was a great day for him since the combined sales of all his sites was about 100 sales of $7 ebooks($700). Again, PayPal locked him out of that account too.

Alternative to PayPal

Back in December, I recommended that he looked at AlertPay as a backup payment processor. With the recent PayPal woes he had recently, he is now switching most of his site to AlertPay and other payment processors.

You may think it's an isolated case but the guy who wrote the affiliate script had such an experience that he sell his script via CB now.

Last summer, one client had troubles with his account and he had to pay me using AlertPay. I was glad I was  offering this options when I launched AuctionSiteWriter.

Conclusion

PayPal is the current de facto payment processor but if they don't adapt to their clients needs like Internet marketers(multiple sites), this will be the start of the downfall of PayPal.

Think about this:  If Internet marketers start to remove PayPal because of fear of being lockout without cause for some "security reasons", this payment processor will be left with just the multimillion clients. Is it their plan?

At least, when they lock an account, they should stop the entry of new payments.

If you have a few sites with a few sales per day, I don't think you are at risk but I suggest you get yourself an AlertPay Business account (less fees too anyway).  You might be mentioned on the net and get 100s of sales in one day. It may also be the day that PayPal decide to lock you out of your account and money because of that.

While the lockout is in effect and you try to correct the situation, they are earning interest on that money.

Go ahead and open that free AlertPay account.

In August 2008, Google deindexed most of my BANS/phpBay sites. Like I mentioned before, it was my own fault and take full responsability. Since then, I added only 7 sites to my very small network of 29 sites(36 total). I also added it on 3 of my WordPress blogs using phpPay Pro WP plugin(worth it).

I did not do more link building using BMD or FBF for some time on most of my sites. The last point is very important here because the traffic is still coming from other search engines like Yahoo/MSN.  Imagine when I will make new BANS/phpBay sites with more content on it to make Google happy.

I will not used real numbers but I'm going to go with my biggest earning month as the baseline.

Are BANS/phpBay dead?

Some will say that those kind of sites are dead now.  Those that tell you that are complete morons or they just want to keep the competition away. If you look at only Google traffic, it's partly true but Google does like WP blogs and the phpBay WP plugin can be added to your blog.

In fact, I do have BANS/phpBay sites(not blogs) still indexed. Most were created after the Google deindex using the phpBay API (v2.5).

I only use phpBay API and the WP plugin now. I don't use BANS because I prefer the phpBay API.

I can build Canadian specific post because I also make money from Canadian visitors too. Plus, phpBay WP has 14 parameters you can control/override. That's one reason I added Plugin Code Builder to AuctionSiteWriter to make that step easier.

Alternatives

You could also use other alternative(free/paid) on your blog but look at the features first. For example, phpBay has a free version. It was too simplistic that I upgraded to the Pro(Bundle). Because I wanted to give a better experience to potential buyers, I needed to filter out some keywords.

Conclusion

Some will point to me that the increase is because many are shopping for the holidays online. This is a fact and I won't argue that point.

But conside this:  Because of the recession, most people will try to find a better deal on new or a used product. Thus, creating a targeted BANS/phpBay sites will be one more way for you to make money.

AuctionSiteWriter v2.0 is now available.

The new feature is call Article spinner and only available to registered users. I did not write the documentation or made a full installation for it yet.

Since I'm adding more and more features, the new price will be $37. But for now, I left it at $27. In case you don't know, ASW comes with free upgrades for life.

What does article spinning has to do with auction sites?

I'm adding features to AuctionSiteWriter that are not auction specific but still can use for my BANS, phpBay sites.  With an auction site, you can get spinned articles by adding backlinks in the article to be publish using SK. If you promote 3 auction products per site, you can have 3 deep links to those pages in your article.

Using SK will help you more for that specific task(added SK button) or for a niche site(Spin). You could use the article to create more unique content for all your niche blogs/sites.

How the Article spinner feature work?

1-In the Original article page, you write an article or you can paste a PLR article.

2- When it's finished, you click on Import. ASW will then split every line finishing by . !  ? or carriage return (Enter). Keep the HTML to the basics thus avoid those characters.

3. You then select the Write line variations page. You will see a grid with every line of your article. Below the grid, you can write up to 3 more variations of the original line(Line 1). By writing something real, it make the article reader friendly and the more line you do, the less duplicate content you get when you spin it.

4-  Once you have finished, you select the Spin article page. You have the option to spin the article or click on SK to get the article compatible for Syndicate Kahuana.

Updated review of Syndicate Kahuna

At first, I was a skeptic of SK since I expected duplicate content and wrote my opinion about it. But after paying to be able to publish my articles to the network, I understood how it worked in reducing duplicate content. But I still believe that you should not use it on a flagship blog.

The network is made of blogs owned by other bloggers like me. It's free to register a blog and the blog must be categorized to be able to get related articles.

If I don't spin my article, it will only be published to 4 blogs(limited duplicate content). This was the mistake I made with my first article. By using the spin mode, I get more variations and thus get publish on more related blogs in the network.

To keep the quality of the articles high, they must be validated first. It took less than 12 hours.

My article will then be added to 2 new blogs per day until all of them are done.  The new feature in ASW will help with that particular task(SK button). Frankly, that is why I added this feature in the first place. I also needed it for my niche blogs too thus the Spin button.

Unlike most article directories, a blog will only get related content.  Like I mentioned before in another post, my financial related blog only gets financial articles plus my own articles when I have the time. My blog is less dead that way and I get new content for those readers and search engines.

The bigger the article, the more backlinks I can add in it.  In any case, those are contextual anchored backlinks that will increase your ranking. I'm limited to a maximum of 3 backlinks per article. However, the ads on my financial blog must compete with those 3 backlinks.

The price is $67/month to be able to publish your articles(no limit per month). You could test it for 1-3 months or you can get 45% off by paying one year in advance.

SK should be part of your toolbox to get content(free) and backlinks(paid). The same goes for BMD, FBF....

Btw, you links will be counted when your links gets counted by Google and other search engines.

I added 2 new features today in AuctionSiteWriter v1.3.0

Sitemap.xml PageRank Checker:
You give the URL of the site and it import the sitemap.xml of the blog. ASW will give you more than 100 URLs. It's a nice companion to Fast Blog Finder.

ASW won't give the dofollow/nofollow because since Fast Blog Finder found it, I presumed that you wanted dofollow only blogs anyway to build backlinks.

Plugin Code Builder:
I now support the phpBay WP plugin. The paid version offer more parameters than the free plugin. It will help you build the line to insert into a post.

Both features are in the registered version only.

When you listen/read/watch the news, you would think that the whole world is in a recession.  Luckily, you can make money in Canada in a recession even if you live outside of Canada . You see, according to the latest International Monetary Fund(IMF) update, Canada will have a growth of 0.3% in 2009. It's not much but Canada is not in a recession yet.

I'm sure other countries are in the same situation thus you could target them too. For example, you could use the phpBay WP plugins(paid version) to offer products to visitors related to your post. That's if the visitor's country is available in the drop down option of phpBay.

Know your traffic

Since my domain is a .ca, Google.ca does like me more and I wrote about this before. In my case, the bulk of my traffic do come from the USA and that's the main reason the plugin country option was left to the default(USA). But, you could make a post about a specific item from your country thus bypass the default country.

Make money in the USA

Even if the USA is in recession, you can still make money from that market.

A few months ago, most of my auction sites were deindexed by Great Google slapped like many webmasters I know.  Part of it was my fault but I won't go into that here.  What is done, is done and I can't control what Google do.

However, the money did not dropped to $0 from those sites.  Since then, I get about 35% the money I was earning before the Great Google slapped. I did not do nothing new to those sites or added backlinks.

You see, the traffic is coming from other search engines.

They are 3 lessons in here:

• Most of what I earned still come from the USA. They want cheaper price.
• If someone tell you that you don't need Google, they are full of crap. I want the 65% back.
• Set and forget sites are nice to earn residual income even deindex from Google

Btw, in the first 10 days of November, I already earned the 35%. It could stop now or they could continue to earn me for the rest of the month.

Looking forward

I was very busy with AuctionSiteWriter and updating See Free Movies Legally to v.3.0 thus did not take the proper time to work on old and new auction sites.

I'm releasing a minor version(1.3) of AuctionSiteWriter in the coming week or two. It's SEO and phpBay plugin releated related. After that, I planned to support phpBay API 3.0 make sites Google friendly.

Once it's done, I expect 2009 to be a great year for me with my auction sites and my other projects like AuctionSiteWriter.

It's just a quick post to tell everyone that AuctionSiteWriter v.2.0 is out. I did not finish the documentation( but soon) and it's in special for $22USD until October 31, 2008.

Since the last beta, I added more information in the Site Statistics . For example, I now show you the URL of your site where your keyword was found, the last time it was analyzed ...I added a Delay so that you IP won't be banned to easily by search engines.

I also added the site grouping feature in the Site Statistics. For example, you could group all your auction sites in Auction1, niche sites in Niche1, your public site in My Sites(default name)....

The keyword positions are saved from the main page. The keywords are not longer compatible with version 1.2.0b1.

Consider this: Domain Dashboard offer a lot of stats but you have to pay $97.  AuctionSiteWriter  cost less and offer most of the statistics so it's a good alternative until you can afford Domain Dashboard.

Btw, I'm considering increasing the price on November 1 or maybe the next version to $37 or $47.

A beta version of AuctionSiteWriter is now available.

The new Site Statistics form will partly replace Domain Dashboard. It will give the PageRank, Whois Dates, Indexed page Backlinks, Keyword tracking for each site. It's only available to registered users.

No documentation was added for the new feature. However, a 6 minutes Flash video is available on the server. Btw, You will hear for the first time my Quebecois accent when I speak in English.

AuctionSiteWriter vs Domain Dashboard

Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, many can't afford, yet, the $97 for Domain Dashboard. Even if they don't do auction sites, AuctionSiteWriter($27) will be useful for them to track keywords for their niche sites.

What makes Domain Dashboard useful is that it will access your Cpanel thus gets access to the Awstats like visitors, all keywords, robots.... It also can create domains in batch mode. But you need to have a host that support Cpanel/WHM like my HostGator reseller account.

Now, AuctionSiteWriter can also track most of the external stats(PageRank, Indexed Pages, Backlinks, keyword ranking) thus it's independent of your host. I still got some sites with 1and1 so Domain Dashboard is useless with those sites.

Of course, I still recommend getting Domain Dashboard when you have the money for it and have a reseller account.  You might also want to create domains in batch, have more stats... Otherwise,  AuctionSiteWriter will be fine for most.

Whois/Search Engines

Whois servers and Search Engines don't like when you make too many access to their sites. They may block access to your IP.  Also, not every registrar write the date the same way thus complicating the extraction of the dates. Many will use the Whois Server Version 2.0 so that's what I check first. If I don't find the dates, I use another site but it also block your IP after a number of times. Too bad because the dates are always written the same way thus independent of the registrar.

Last word

Like I mentioned before, I decided to make the new feature available to registered users only. It's one way to show that buying AuctionSiteWriter is worth it and they made a good choice in getting it. I will add other options that's not "auction oriented" because I do  have a need for those features for my other sites too.

For now, the price is $27USD(free upgrades for life) but I will eventually have to increase the price with all those features being added.

I did not write much recently because I'm into updating AuctionSiteWriter. The new module(beta) is not "Auction" oriented so I expect  it appeal to all webmasters. I will use it for my normal site and auction sites too. I will give you a hint: the module will partly replace a $97 software that I'm currently using and still will use later on.

Some webmaster don't have the money to buy that $97 software at this time.  AuctionSiteWriter (27USD) new module will be a good alternative for most webmaster.  The $97 software does not perform somethings that I need but offer more things for those that want those features. Once AuctionSiteWriter is out, I will explained the difference between the two. Btw, the new module will be an exclusive for registered users.

Quebecois And Poutine

While checking the Google Trends module in AuctionSiteWriter, I noticed: Quebecois(#40) And Poutine(#66). Being from Quebec and adore eating the spicy poutine from Ashton, I wondered why those two words were in there.

Canadians are in election and Quebecois was for the Bloc Quebecois and the Conservative party news. The first related words for Quebecois in the trend was poutine. I guest it triggered more search for poutine.

If you don't know, a poutine is made of fries, gravy and curd cheese. If you are doing a diet, I don't recommend eating one. It's about 1 pound of butter in fat.  But, if you don't know the word "diet" or having a selective memory lost, I recommand to try one if you have a chance. It's goooood but don't tell you diet coach or he/she will make you do more excercise and cut your calories in half.
