Once you created a backlink from articles using ArticleDemon(aff.), you must tell the search engines about it or wait to for it to be found. So, I decided in my last beta version of MyStarterBlog to create a "link template" just for that task by letting users import links into a bunch of posts.

The idea was to take 100s of backlinks(articles, profiles, bookmarks...) and help the search engines find them quicker. Each backlink indexed in Google is better than none.

I finally bought and distributed my first batch of articles using ArticleDemon. After 2 weeks, I had 206 that were still not indexed yet out of 235 still live ones. Some were deleted by owners or did not have any backlinks in my articles. the other 700+ articles will have to be approved in the coming months.

I bought a domain name previously and created a "link directory" using the template for Site directories except that I did not Read metatags since I Combine URLs with 125 backlinks per post for those articles posts. I used more URLs per post in a previous way but did not tracked the result.

I uploaded the new post, pinged the site using Pingler, did a  BMD run of those articles using only 9 dofollow social sites(no main SB sites) and the 2 posts after. I waited 1 week to see if the new post would be indexed. Today, I have 62 out of 209 that are now indexed.

Since those are backlinks with more value than profiles backlinks, I thought it would be worth a little time to help indexed them my way/faster.

I used for 2 months the Drip Feed Blast service(forum profiles) to create backlinks thus lower quality backlinks. Out of 114000 profiles, I got about 36000 still active links. Each blast gave me about 50-55% backlinks. But with time, some are deleted or are not visible.

Yesterday, I created about 180 posts for those 36000 and just used Pingler to pinged  the mais page site only. I did not  do a BMD run for each of those posts like I did with the article.

For now, I thinks it's working well but time will tell if it's worth my time. IMHO, I think so for articles.

One cool feature of  ArticleDemon is that you can get it to find the backlink of your published articles. Btw, that's one more  reason I like it and recommend it. I used The Best Spinner(aff.) to spinned my articles before to get unique content.

My CB Traffic Warrior(aff.) review is going to be very short. After knowing that this is an article submitter but cheap, I decided to offer a better alternative but with more potential on the long run. Btw, I hate hype salespage and so I did not bought it. Yet, the principles are sound.

You see, in SEO(Search Engine Optimization), you must have the most diversity of links. So, articles are one of those methods and  CB Traffic Warrior fall into that category from what I know now.

If you don't have the money, then it's a good deal until you have it for more and better tools. Heck, I bought a few tools in the past years so yes, I invested in my business.

The Alternative

The better alternative to CB Traffic Warrior on the long run is this: The Best Spinner(aff.) and ArticleDemon(aff.). That's what I suggest.

The Best Spinner(yearly cost) was updated this week to be able to convert batch file. Can you say PLR dream land? I hate writing so it a plus for me. You can still test The Best Spinner for 7 days first.

ArticleDemon(one time) is next on my purchasing list. Being a fan of BMD(aff.), I expect AD will perform like is brother in link building since it herited some features from BMD. At this time for articles, I'm using another software but it does not have automatic captcha support that ArticleDemon and BMD have.

The reason I don't do articles at this time, thus have time for ArticleDemon, is that I just bought Auto Website Submitter(aff., yearly cost) to replace my current directory submitter. I have many sites to submit to more directories than before since I like to have a lot of links for each sites.

Btw, Auto Website Submitter has support for captcha services that BMD and ArticleDemon are using. So, I can buy captcha credits from one place and have my 3 softwares use those. That's great for me.

My Basic SEO link building

If you want to/can invest in your IM business now rather that later, here are the 4 basic software your should get. That's if you have the money, of course.

• Directories: Auto Website Submitter
• Social bookmarks: BMD
• Articles: The Best Spinner and ArticleDemon

Since I wanted to go cheap at first like most people, it ended costing me more. So learn from me and think about if IM(Internet Marketing) is a business or an hobby for you.

Conclusion

I gave you an alternative to link building that yes, cost more than CB Traffic Warrior but will give you more return on the long run and diversity of links.

Speaking of diversity, I use LinxBoss(aff.) to add to my diversity of links and other services that I'm testing currently. I also use with success  RMT(aff.) to get non-SEO traffic to my money sites.

Update Dec. 4 , 2010: I bought ArticleDemon and adding new directories before starting the submission of my articles. Like BMD, the more sites I can submit to, the more backlinks I will get and stick.

Yes, I'm doing a review of Auto Mass Traffic(aff.) and even bought it despite the hype! At first, I was thinking it was about list building because of the things not mentioned on the salespage.

But, it's about basic PPV(Pay per view) targeted traffic plus a software for it. That was the software that intrigued me too.

For me, it was a basic(PDF) rehash of RMT(same guys) that I bought and reviewed a few months ago plus a software that I mentioned earlier. I did not take any upsells since I wanted the basic package first.

Do read my earlier review because I believed that PPV is one way to get cheap targeted to my money sites. Heck, I'm still using the same service since March. With Auto Mass Traffic, it's another service that demand a lesser deposit($100 vs $200).

Software

Now, the software is web based so you will need to login to use it. It's very basic because you just need to enter a few keywords and it will show the URLs(paid,organic)  from (Google, Bing, Yahoo) that you can enter into the PPV service.

Conclusion

In the end, I would recommend Auto Mass Traffic if:

1. You want to try your end at PPV before jumping into PPC(Pay per click).

2. You want to pay for traffic like $0.015/view. I'm using EPN and they pay me about $0.30-0.40/click. So, I'm sending that cheaper traffic that do click and buy on my money sites. Even if a 1 visitor out of 10 click once on an item, they will click a few times more or not once on eBay. In the end, its cheap and targeted.

3. You have an already good converting money site thus want to increase the targeted traffic to it. At least, you will pay less since most will click/buy.

So you have it:  Auto Mass Traffic(very basic(pdf), cheap) or RTM(more advanced/videos,cost more). I won't ask for a refund since I learned a few alternative ways to my current service. Plus, I have access to a software that I could had program myself(time I don't want to take).

At least, it's not a scam but they do show the, arggg, 500 copies limit. It's manually update once a day. Let's see tomorrow if the price do increase and the copies sold remained the same for Auto Mass Traffic!

I started using LinxBoss(aff.) around 3 months ago on 5 sites(slots). This gave me  time to give you my honest review of LinxBoss,  opinion of the service, the results, tips  and also about the support.

And those that read me knows that I will be upfront and I won't shy away to call it a scam or not. Heck, just read my last few posts about scams!

What is LinxBoss?

In short, LinxBoss is a way to get one way backlinks in a hands off manner to my money sites and ...backlinks. Yes, a new feature was added after I started called L4L for Links 4 Links that build backlinks to you current/indexed backlinks. Btw, that's a great feature they added and did not cost me more!

How it works?

The base price include 5 slots of 1000 contextual backlinks/month thus 200 backlinks per slots. A slot can have more than 1 URL(deep links) thus will be part of the 200 backlinks from that slots.

Here is the thing: you don't have to write texts for them. Of course, you do have to add the URLs, keywords(main, secondaries) and category but not a blurb or article to write. That's another great thing for me.  In the case of L4L, you just enter related keywords that you don't mind ranking for but far for the keywords you want to really rank for.

Anyway, they have some training videos to help you better understand how it works once you are a member of LinxBoss.

L4L tips

When I looked at my stats, I noticed that the one of the 5 sites that is my current money maker  had more L4L backlinks already found versus the 4 other slots. This is what I believe made it stronger than the others and is making money now for me.

With that in mind, I started to add by hand backlinks in L4L that I made using my other softwares but were not indexed yet. In one week, I already saw a rise on most sites.

My suggestion is to continue to promote your sites the conventional way by adding more backlinks like you were doing before. In those cases, I added them by hand in L4L because I knew of some of my backlinks(ezine). Otherwise, I will have to wait for L4L and my other backlinks to find each other later on. I only gave it a little push to make it more faster.

Btw, the L4L is on another whole network and there is not limit in the number of backlinks to them. Also, those backlinks to backlinks will be done to authority sites first. It's logical too since this will give more juice to your money sites by default.

My results... so far

I can say that most of my sites do have better ranking today than when I started. In most cases, it took only a few weeks to increase in ranks. You can expect fluctuation up or down so don't worry about that.

But since I added backlinks manually in L4L  just last week for the other 4 slots, I will mostly comment on the best performer that did had backlinks found by L4L. Remember that L4L only started after I got in.

The site started at #22 and now it's #1. It has 2900 searches a month. It took around 1 month to get to #2 and since then goes from 1 to 2.

Money talks

I did not know if I should mentioned it but sometimes it can help to see real numbers. Plus, I wanted to see what will be the impact on my others sites when they get to that point later on.

Some have more  and some less searches per month. You can say this one is in the middle in the number of searches so a good example for me.

• From May 25 to June 24(before): $3.31
• From June 25 to July 24(First month): $14.36
• From July 25 to August 24(Second month): $255.63
• From August 25 to September 16(Third month): $299.03

Now to be honest, these numbers were beyond my expectation. I expect my other sites to make make less or more when L4L make it's effect noticed later on. But that's if I selected the right paying keywords for those and that's not LinxBoss responsibility but mine alone.

Second bigger round

Seeing that, I added 20 more slots late last month. It is costing less per slot but a good deal of money in addition of the first 5 slots. I'm investing in my IM business. I'm also concentrating more on those 20 sites more than ever and added backlinks manually last week  in L4L like the others(first batch).

When I selected my 20 sites, I took those that were much behind thus page 2-3 and up. A few were on page 60 or more. I believe that if they are there, it's because there is more money to make thus more competition. At least, that's my thinking.

So far, the effect on ranking is pretty excellent. 18 of the 20 sites are now on page 1. Most of them are between position 4 to 10 already after less than month. I suspect that  L4L is now helping more. Of course, the closer to #1, the harder it is but possible like I saw for myself. That's why I will give most of them a second month.

Rotation, Rotation, Rotation...

Once I start seeing constant results from a main keyword in a slot, I will rotate it with it's  secondary keyword for a few days/weeks. That's an option.

The second option that I'm considering  is to use another site instead. Some will reach the top 3 positions if not #1 sooner than other sites thus I can remove it and use another site in that spot quicker.

But for the next batch, I'm also looking at those sites that are already near the top 3 but not in LinxBoss yet. Those might just need just a few weeks or 1 month to reach the top thus rotate faster than other sites that are way out there.

Do you speak Français?

In one of the slot, I'm promoting a site in French that I have.  I can't use a keywords that have a French accent in it. It's a draw back, at least for me and something you should be aware if you have non-English site too.

To get around that, you could use  non-accent keywords since a lot of people won't use them for searches. Of course, some will and it might be the one with the more searches too. For example, I have to use Quebec instead of Québec.

Another solution when using LinxBoss, it's to write  articles that do have the accent and add those backlinks in L4L after it's published.

But if you have many sites using accent for the main keyword, you could also dedicate a slot for promoting  articles URLs like ezinearticles.com for example.

Like I mentioned above,  watch the video on how it handle multiple URLs in a same slot.

The support

I had a few issues/questions/suggestions and they responded in a quickly fashion. To me that is a great example of good support. If you have read my previous posts, you know how bad support can affect the long term relationship with a client.

Open or closed

Soon after I started, it closed the doors. I checked earlier today and it's opened but for how long this time around?

They want to offer a good support and grow their service. So, they have to do that from time to time to help new members, add features like L4L, add new sites into the network  and then reopen later on. I can understand that perfectly.

Conclusion

Some might not get the same effect than me and that's keyword selection for you. Also, if you can't afford the LinxBoss service or willing to invest if you have the money, then you will need more patience or use another service that you can afford and feel comfortable with.

What can I say: I took a chance when I selected my sites and it paid of for me. I believe enough in it(20 more slots) to expect to pay me sooner rather than later. But don't take it for 1 month thus budget at least  2-3 months to see results on your sites. And continue to get backlinks so that L4L find them.

Another day, another "limited copies" offer but from Traffic Anarchy this time around. Is Traffic Anarchy a scam or just misleading customers? So, again  I have done some research and for once, it's not a scam but I do have some mixed feelings about it.

I want to make it clear that I did not buy Traffic Anarchy and don't intent too.  I however did  some researched to see what was the "product" beforehand.

About my mixed feeling first

Why I did not buy it? Because of the claims of only 350 copies. Now, I always have a doubt but it seems it's the "new sales pitch" in Internet Marketing world this days and it has to stop now.

Now, I did not find a "contest" for affiliates but I was hit by 2-3 emails at the exact hour it was launched. This is not a good sign and that's why I have some reservation about the limited copies mentioned on the salespage but...

The Traffic Anarchy product

Traffic Anarchy is a basic software solution that will let you submit your site to many places(RSS feed, Social bookmark, Press Release, Articles directories) to get backlinks and traffic. For a new person in IM with a limited budget, I don't mind recommending Traffic Anarchy.

The software just submit to a limited number of places thus the impact will be lesser. However, it's good that's it not the small sites but the major ones for each categories.

Conclusion

Later when you have the money or if you have it now, I would suggest you get bigger tools(BMD for social bookmark) to get more backlinks. Yes, I own it and use it everyday of the week like other tools. For me, BMD is a must have in my chest of  tools.

But if you don't have much money for tools and want to try your hand at IM basics, Traffic Anarchy is a good option for you since it's an all in one software and will show you the basics of getting backlinks from different sources. It's better than doing it by hand in a semi-automatic way(like entering captchas).

Again, it's mostly the 350 copies that I'm not liking on the salespage of Traffic Anarchy.

Who would like this kind of return for a $24.95 investment?   Me!  Me!  Me! Everyday, I get this kind of offers and depending on how I'm feeling, if I got the time and the source of the email, I often dismissed them out of hand or look at it very quickly. But not this one and here is why.

You see I was just about to even unsubscribed from this Internet Marketer list  because I taught he was overdoing it too much in my opinion in the last few weeks.

To be fare, I bought a good product from him in the past but taught he was promoting too much things at the same time. The error was mine, I admit, because those products were mostly from him. He is a busy guy.

Good timing

The timing was also good because I was hit hard in the last few months by Google(like many IMers) and was looking to diversify more my sources of revenue. So that offer came at the right time for me.

Autopilot?

All The Set-Up, Writing, Selling, Hosting Taken Care Of By A Million Dollar Blogging Team

Like you can read above,  they will create a blog for you with writing, set-up, hosting, selling, ...managed it for you.

Of course, I can imagine that I will have to do some work like promoting it on my side which is fine. I don't mind that.

Show me the money!

They also used examples(intro above) of making a boat load of money which could be true ... eventually.  But my expectations is more around $100/month for that Premium blog for the first few months.  Sure, if I do get $1000+ on my first week, I will not complain one minute.

On the sales page, they don't mentioned that it's a monthly investment of $24.95  and I only saw it after the purchase was done and printed my invoices. It's my partly fault but would had like to know it more upfront. But, you can deduce it because of the things they will do for you on your blog each month.

But, if I do make $100/month but it cost me $24.95/month I will make $75/month in profits from that site. Not bad if you ask me and a pretty good investment when/if it will be $200, $500, $1000+ ... per month

But here is the deal ... so far

I did not have my blog yet and it's been more than a week that I ordered it and they mentioned a 24 hour delay. Did I get scammed?

No because: I'm patient and you need patience to do Internet Marketing anyway.

I also sent an email 72 hours later but did not get a response. I finally opened a support ticket(bottom of the sales  page). They replied the same day that had servers issues thus the delay with my blog. I bet they are overwhelmed by the demand of such a deal. :p

I did not want a refund since I still think this could be a good source of revenues but time will tell if I'm wrong or not. Btw, that's what we call taking action!

I can also canceled later on if I don't even meet a minimum of return on my investment of $24.95/month.

Conclusion

Yes, I wanted to give you a real review first. But, I had dilemma that by the time you read my review, this offer might not be available anymore or the door would closed for them to be able to catch up on the current orders and would reopens months later if they do.

Yes, I'm taking also a chance and by presenting you this opportunity now, I'm giving you the chance to take a leap of faith with me.

Yes, some will not take it and its' their choice but...

That's what Internet Marketing is about: You take action in the hope of making money from a site, if not you just learned something new for the next one. That's business!

Heck, just go watch the video and make up your own mind. I did my choice and will make a review in the future if it did worked or not.

Those of you that will take action now will either sunk $50-75(stay 2-3 months minimum) like me or be richer beyond their expectations if very lucky on the first month. But, just don't expect miracles on the first month but cross you fingers that it works ; ).

The sales page was good enough that I bought CB Wealth Formula to make a review of it. Besides, the price was within what I was prepare to pay for that famous next "magic bullet" on auto-pilot. Yeah right!

Don't get me wrong, it was not the claims of making a huge amount of money monthly like most courses do but the modules about generating traffic that intrigue me the most. I had already reviewed one solution that is working good for me so adding another one made cents ... oops sense.

I expected to read a lot but instead, the course is made of 53 short videos(2 to 25 minutes) in a Powerpoint style video. I can say that it makes the value and information of the course worth it just for that.

Of course, I knew many things but I still learned a few new things/tips also. Some of it are things that I did not put into action yet and knew I should had: My bad .

I started with module 1-6 and like I mentioned before, I learned a few things while viewing it and others ways to do things. The bonus #3 was not available so I decided to skip ahead and to start watching the 10 videos of module 9. Yes, I watched the others too after.

Relying Too Much On Google?

But after watching the videos, I started to use that methods because you can't rely on Google only traffic. I which I could but I learned it the hard way in the last 2-3 months. My traffic was rising and then ... it dropped like a shoe out of the window and so as my revenues.

So, having other sources of traffic is key to make money online and you learn how. Diversification of income and now.... traffic are what I do. I won't say bye bye to Google but I find other ways so not to rely too much on Google.

Conclusion

So for me, I think it's a great way for newbies to learn about Internet Marketing thus I recommend CB Wealth Formula not for it's claims but for the knowledge it gives you. Heck, I did learn from it myself.

To get spiders come to your site or blog, you need to tell them that you updated your site. That's why having an updated ping list is a good thing.

I already had an old list but with too many dead ping servers. So I went online and found many older lists(thanks) or older post about that subject. The reasons I wanted a new list was for 3 reasons:

1. MyStarterBlog

I wanted to had a ping function in a theme for MyStarterBlog(my own software). I created a new batch of small MSB sites to make money online from them since I'm doing Internet Marketing. Plus,  I don't use WP for the reasons I don't want to be bothered with the whole security/MySQL issues that gave me problems in the past. It's set and forget for those make money sites.

That's why I generate my sites using MSB because it creates a flat file blog/site. I need to upload to site with every change. In this case, my money 3 pages blog/site took about 100KB. For 1 installation of a WP blog, I can have 40+ MSB sites thus taking less space or resource on my hosting account.  I don't need a MySQl database either. The themes are SEO optimize, RSS ready, sitemap... but was missing the ping feature until now.

So, I found some php code to ping my sites made with MSB. I modified a few lines at the start for MSB and it was simple.

1. Download the code/ping list(173 ping servers, zip format, 2.9KB) to your MSB theme directory. You should change the default file names for your own needs.

2. Generate or regenerate the MSB blog/site.

3. Upload the updated new files

4. To ping,  just do that in your browser:

http://mywhateversite.com/ping.php or new name of the php file

Voila! It's done.

My goal was to be able to use the current MSB version and be optional for users. So, if you don't want this ping list for MSB, just use the list for ....

2. BMD

In BMD(a must for bloggers in my opinion), you can promote your new blog post or site to social bookmarking sites. It has a feature to ping your account page on those social bookmaking sites. This way your post will then be crawled.

One cool feature is that it also let me test each of them(active or not) and find duplicate. Those 173 ping servers were active when I created my list. I had 350+ at the start from copying lists. It took me some time or should I say BMD to check them out.

3. WordPress

As I'm writing this, I still using WP to write on this blog. So, I wanted to update that ping list too.

I may in the future convert my blog to MSB like I did with another blog that I did not allow comments (no enough time to respond/too much spam). I'm glad I did that since it make me passive money even if I don't update it often this days.

However, I might just keep WP here since MSB is mostly for secondary/no comment allowed blogs or make money sites(set and forget) for me.

Btw, when a ping server is still live, it make it faster to ping  in BMD or MyStarterBlog and WP.

free traffic on the long run.

In the last year, I stopped blogging and doing Internet Marketing(IM),  both a little, because I had other personal matters to tend too.

In the last few months, I started doing IM again a lot more to increase my network of money sites. Like before, I bought products claiming to be the next "silver bullet" ... but asked for refund soon after. Hey! a guy can dream right?

But one of those products(in March) claimed to bring secret targeted traffic on demand. I was intrigue, bought it  and started using it for a test drive.  Here is the catch:  it's very cheap Pay-Per-View(PPV) traffic based on keywords. I can hear you saying: I don't want to pay for traffic. Fine, it's your choice and I was like you before. But it's really cheap starting at 1.5 cents per clicks. It's not a typo and really $0.015!

Okay, you might pay more if you have more competitions for your keyword but it's way cheaper than Adwords. Heck, test it first on it before using Adwords. You might save a bundle.

The CB test

Now, let's get back to my test. I started sending them directly to a few Clickbank products page I was promoting for the test. I had chosen different types of products(mainstream) but mainly those with a keywords list to start me for my test.

At that cheap price, I figured that if I spent $5 on a campaign and if I can get 1 sale of  a $25 products, I would make a killing right? Not bad if you ask me. A campaign takes 24 hours before being approved. Those are human checked thus the delay. It took longer when that product did launch because of the new clients.

Now, it does bring cheap traffic for pennies($0.015) vs Adwords but did it convert like those Clickbank products were saying?

That's were I was disappointed by those CB products . I sent between 100 to 300+ visitors at a cost of $1.50 to $6+ per campaign and got zero sales on all of them. What a bummer! Maybe I picked loser CB products but I will not give up.

Never gave up!

Since most of my sites are based on eBay Partnet Network(EPN) affiliate program, I decided to send that target traffic to those sites. Will I be more successful?

Last October, EPN changed the rules that we had no more commissions based on the fees but getting paid on the quality of the clicks. So, if a visitor click on a product and buy it, then it's better for us and the clicks are worth more.

My sites are very products targeted  sites thus I don't have a huge amount of traffic to start off but they do click and convert well when I do get a visitor oops buyers.  No, I won't tell you my niches. :p  Some lost a lot because of that  and I was one of the few that gain in that new way of being paid by EPN.

Note: Btw, I did lost 25-30% of my traffic/revenues from April numbers to my sites since Google made the algorithm changed last May thus I lost money because of that. But don't cry,  just adapt! eBay and Google think of themselves and their bottom line first and so should you.

Since I was getting around  $0.20-0.25 per click on EPN, why not pay $0.015 per visitor with a chance of getting at least 1 click from that visitor? How did I do?

Overall, I'm getting very cheap and very targeted traffic to my sites and thus more clicks... in theory. Now, to be honest, I can say for sure if that visitor did click or not but it seemed that way to me since my clicks/winning bids  increased in April from March. Why?  Sometimes, I don't get any clicks and it was the only visitor to that sites. Sometimes, it's the only visitor but he/she clicked on a few items thus more added clicks than the $0.015 I invested. Of course, when I do get search engine traffic , it's impossible to know who clicked or not but I did get more clicks and winning bids since before the Google Change.

Sometimes, I only pay $0.13-20/day for the few sites I send traffic. I know, it's not a lot of visitors BUT they are very targeted keywords with not many searches a month to begin with.  I do make more because of the added clicks/winning bids they bring.  In time, I will add this type of traffic to all my old and of course, new sites I will be building.

I took one of my site that convert well with visitors and this additional traffic compensated a little for the lost of Google traffic I got in May.

Thinking outside the box

If your site was making you money for the selected keyword but the site was deindex(like some preowned .com I have), why not start sending this type of cheap targeted traffic? That's what I'm doing.

You wrote a great  blog post(not IM related) with an offer or just want traffic and get new readers, buy cheap traffic for that group of readers.

You want to sell your blog in a few weeks? Send a wave of traffic by biding on general keywords with the hope they like your content and gain more readers by then and for the  future buyer of your blog. No, I did not test that but it's easy to get less targeted traffic thus more visitors.

Conclusion

By using that cheap targeted traffic on very targeted sites, your chance are better that they buy now. Why do I say now?  Because until your start to rank in the search engines, why not send cheap targeted traffic until your links are counted? Plus, you might know faster if you did picked the right keyword.

Yes, it IS well worth the investment for once!

Btw, that is why I waited to write my real review of RMT(aff.) because I wanted to test the basic system in the first place in different ways and see what happen.

P.S. I did buy the Advanced Videos but did not really watch them at this time since I wanted to test the basic system on a new batch of sites I was build back then. I guest I might do better when I do take time to watch those advanced tricks and thus better convert with CB products. 

P.S. 2 You will first need to deposit an initial $200 in your account before using their cheap traffic system. I did not know that thus I took the chance and glad I did like you can read above. Remember, it's a business for most of us. I did not have any problems with them so far on that end. After, you can deposit $20(manually or automatically with a 2% discount).

Last year, I had to register to SEDO to be able to make an offer on an domain. The owner and I did some testing and I concluded that the domain, for me, was not worth it for the price he was asking. Also, the Canadian dollar took a beating around that time and did not want to invest that much money. Yes, I'm missing last summer 1:1 exchange rate.

Once the testing was done, I made an offer based on the traffic he was sending from that domain.

The seller also had another related domain with half the traffic for sale but not making that much per day from SEDO parking. I made an offer and he accepted(day 1).

I had to enter my PayPal information to be paid when parking domains but also when buying the domain.

Once the seller agreed to my price, SEDO sent me an email. From there, I had to first pay the SEDO(escrow) and select the registrar.

Day 2

I had to send info to switch registrar.

Day 3

Got the authorized code to transfer registrar.

Day 4

All the transfers were done and the seller was paid a few days later.

For the first domain, they did not transfer the domain to my chosen registrar for some reasons. It could had been me too. But, I needed to wait 60 days more to do redo the transfer. The second domain was okay. If you have the same registrar, it's faster.

I since done other transfers because it's fast and secure. When I sold one of my domain, I had to pay a 10% fee for the escrow service. This way, I'm protected.

The aftermath

After I taking possession of both domains, I noticed I was not getting the traffic I got from the stats from SEDO that the seller sent me on one of them. I was only getting 10%. How could that be? Why the major drop? Did he mislead me? One thing for sure, I was mad!

Up to that time, I never got any troubles with the seller based on the previous testing phase. I sent an email to the seller since I paid for x amount for the traffic.  I offered him 2 options: explanations or partial refund based on the traffic I was getting.

But if he was dishonest, I was also ready to out him in public for being dishonest. Reputation is hard to gain but easy to lose. However, that was my last course and I wanted explanations first since he was honest before. Thus, I gave him a chance to explained himself.

My email was not received well and he did not like the tone. After reading my email, I admit I was a little too  direct. "Screwed me over" reflected the feeling I had at that time. Plus, I was accusing him of being dishonest when using those words.  But, I could had posted to my blog while never giving him a chance to give me his side. After that, I apologized and I was more diplomatic when choosing my words. Before that first email, I did asked a few questions but he never really answered all of them properly while answering others correctly.

He offered explanations and he pointed out a mistake I had made when receiving the incoming traffic. Yes, I admit, that part was my fault. After I made the modifications, I was getting the right amount of traffic.

I received 2 more replies later on. In the first reply, he accused me to be the dishonest one and that it was his last reply. The second reply, a few minutes later,  was that he was going to contact everyone that was sending me traffic to that domain. I never replied to either of those replies.

The lesson: Choose you words carefully. For both of us, English was not our first language. Maybe I used word that was more misinterpreted on his side.

Dealing with existing traffic

For those curious, I was only processing domain.com/index.html?uid=9999 when I should had process domain.com/index.php?uid=9999.I had only seen the .html

When you setup a site, you should check the 404 errors more carefully. With all my previous pre-owned I had bought, I never had that situation like this one.

Dealing with SEDO traffic

SEDO will give you the traffic they actually count as traffic. When domains are parked, they will show ads thus sending traffic is against the TOS.

Both domains are still receiving a lot from many traffic exchange services thus SEDO is not counting them. I can't do anything about it either since it's it's not from me. I do get regular traffic from backlinks too.

Also, SEDO will show the total hits for the last 30 days. So, if the domain was added yesterday, SEDO will show that total in the "last 30 days". If you see a low amount, it could be higher than that.

With those 2 domains, 95% is non converting crap traffic. At least, by using a few NB offers, I was able to almost double my money within 3-4 months from those 2 domains. I must mentioned that the second domain did not convert well. But, I took a gamble and I won this time.

Conclusion

Buying domains with pre existing traffic from SEDO or other services is good IF you can know where it comes from first. If you are lucky, the traffic is not being manipulated in anyway.

Otherwise, you might be stuck with a high priced lame duck. If it happens, you can always build links to get better targeted traffic but you will need to be patient until Google counts them.

Now, I check the traffic but it's not the major stat I look at. I check the number of backlinks, name, what it was used for and.... if it's in my budget because both were more than what I pay for pre-owned domains.
