Deindexed BANS, phpBay… StoreStacker when?
In the last month, StoreStacker was reviewed by 3 known blogs(Chow, Zac and lastly Gyutae) in the MMO(make money online) field. I don't have a problem with that. But they only mentioned part of story.
Deindexed BANS, phpBay... StoreStacker next?
Those of us that used other scripts like BANS, phpBay... have noticed that Google will eventually deindexed many of them. They all got hit eventually. StoreStacker will be the next one and it's just a matter of time.
If you read the StoreStacker main page, it will deliver relevant articles. But this is will be duplicate content and Big G will see it as a footprint to track your site.
How to avoid getting deindexed?
Don't get me wrong, I do like the idea of having a site that auto generate like StoreStacker. But like BANS, phpBay, you will need to add original content to make the Big G happy. That's where most get into troubles and yes, including me. I, however, do take full responsibility for my deindexed sites.
If you just install the script in it's basic form, you will look like all the others that did the same. Big G will detect that and not pass visual inspection.
Too many choices
One of the common mistake webmaster do with niche stores, it's to give to many choices to visitors. The same principals for BANS will apply to StoreStacker. I already posted about this.
You want to get paid but when?
If you have just a few sites, you will need to drive a lot of targeted traffic to them if you use more than one affiliate per store. You see, if 3 buyers buy from affiliate A, B and C, your chance of meeting the minimum payout will be divided by 3. You will have to wait much longer to get paid. Since StoreStacker support more affiliates than BANS, I suggest to use one affiliate per site.
If you have a large network of sites, this won't be a real issue most don't have that luxury.
Conclusion
You may or may not agree with me but those should be taken into consideration when you build a StoreStacker to avoid being deindexed and get paid faster.
At this time, I did not own StoreStacker because I'm too busy with AuctionSiteWriter.

Hey Steve,
It’s true that Google doesn’t like scripted sites, but that’s because they provide no value to the end user. StoreStacker is a bit different because it pulls in products and content from various sources like eBay, ClickBank, Amazon, etc as well as from RSS feeds and video sites. Because of this, StoreStacker has a greater chance of surviving because aggregators do in fact provide value (a lot of the top travel and shopping sites are just aggregators after all).At the end of the day, it all comes down to providing unique value to users. That’s what Google uses to determine the fate of a site.

Hi Gyutae,
If the site pull information from many sources, it will look like a scrapping site to Google. Unless the site is about news and known(CNN, NBC…), it will be an issue for Google.
I still make money with BANS but much less since most are deindexed. If StoreStacker become more popular like BANS did, it will be on Google radar and Google might decided to deindexed all of them in one swoop until the algo can detect those that give real value to users.
The goal is to make the site be more distinct from the others from the start. If you are lucky, Google might do nothing.

I don’t think this will happen as fast as you think. It will never happen for me in any regards. I, build my stores as pages in wordpress blogs. Google loves wordpress blogs and having my store stacker stores as a page in my site just ads that much more to the site.
You can check out my store and post I made last week about store stacker and how to install it onto a wordpress blog. (but I am guessing you know how to, but encase your readers don’t – the tutorial is there)

I did say “when?” It could be in 2 months, 6 months or never if most make their sites unique because they spread the word about this post.
Like you mentioned, adding it to your blog would make it less likely to get you deindexed since you have content. If you start to add too much “store pages”, then Google might not like it.
The downside of using WP(niche blog) is that it’s more demanding than the StoreStaker script. If you have too much load on the shared server, the host might kick you out. A few site should be okay.
Btw, one of the reason that BANS were deindexed was because 100000 sites popup all of sudden “thanks” to blackhaters. If lucky, this won’t happen here.

Ya true enough. Guys like Vic from blogger unleashed were teaching people how to build them in the masses with dot biz or info names and how to spam them to get them indexed. I hope he doesn’t start using store stacker.
PS
Its nice to meet another .ca blogger.October 23rd, 2008 at 4:45 pm -

I must clarify: Vic was really teaching people(mostly broke following wrong advice) to make money using BANS. It was also easy for most to use, understand keyword selections(3 per bans) … SEO in general. He could had said nothing too.
By using $1 .info, it was cheaper for most people to get started. Many are broke so it was costing less than the $6-10 .com. Ideally, a $15 pre-owned was what Vic suggested.
The 100000 was really blackhats that caused this. For example, they created many BANS on a single domain. Vic never recommended that.
Also, he always told people to leave real comments and not spam. I will delete real spam but keep comment that add content for search engines(like yours). Unfortunately, most bloggers are stupid about SEO and delete comments that would bring them traffic.
Vic got a bad rap because of his style. He is a nice guy if you get passed that.
Btw, I just got an email for $1 .info on Godaddy.
Yes, .CA bloggers are rare but growing.

Well maybe it was the way he approached what he was doing that rubbed me the wrong way. Most of us are broke when we start out and I have always tried myself to build quality affiliate websites.
Regarding comments, I keep most of mine as long as they follow along with my post they are leaving the comment on. Even if it says “Hey nice site” I keep them too. Every time a site updates that brings the spiders along so ya its all good. I mostly delete the Viagra comments or ones from the grammar fairy.
are .info’s any good. That type of domain name I know nothing about.

I tried to have quality BANS but I was busy programming AuctionSiteWriter thus did not update them like I should had. That’s why I mentioned it was my fault.
I delete “Hey nice site” too since it can be a spammer and because it does not add to the post.
“grammar fairy”
Do you mean the drunk grammar fairy
I do to..info are good like any other TLD. One thing that Vic mentioned is because Google deindexed .info, it re-added value to the TLD since they will be watch more closely. I prefer $15 pre-owned .com myself.

My PHPBAY got DeIndexed too said:
I had a phpbay wordpress blog and I got deindexed by Google! My keywords ranked on the first page then one afternoon I saw my traffic plummet and found out my indexed pages dropped to zero. So I don’t know what’s safe to build these days.
If store stacker pulls sale products from different sources, won’t it look like a scrapping software since all the sales product information is duplicated content?

That’s what I’m expecting since it’s scrapping software at the core.
Now, If you make a WordPress phpBay blog, have a mix of post and phpBay post and all of them have unique content, I won’t expect to be deindex. This would work better on older pre-owned blogs better in my opinion.
This week, I added this kind of post on another one of my blog with not much traffic and it already paid off. Mind you, it’s less than 1 year.
Btw, in AuctionSiteWriter, I added a plugin code builder for phpBay.
Anyway, I digress. I would really like the feedback of someone who is using StoreStacker on a pre-owned or new site. As the traffic from Google decreased or stayed the same. I imagine that 6 months of use would be better.
